STR guest apperance in hindi remake vtv
Silambarasan and Gautham Vasudev Menon have been regarded as the best pals in Kollywood now. In fact, they would love to be addressed as brothers rather than ‘Friends’. STR’s career got through jet-speed progression after ‘Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya’. The actor played a cameo role in the Telugu version ‘Ye Maaya Chesavo’ as well.
Now his role will be reprised in the Hindi version ‘Prem Katha’ as well that has Pratheik Babbar and Amy Jackson in lead roles. Silambarasan will be playing the role of an actor, whose role will be inspired from the real life character of Prateik Babbar.
Javed Akhtar has penned dialogues and lyrics for the film that will have musical score by A.R. Rahman.

STR in Six Pack
If you are a fan of the latest fad of six pack abs, STR aka Simbu has got something to enthrall you. For the actor will be seen with a toned body in 'Osthi', a remake of Salman Khan's blockbuster 'Dabangg'.
"Since Simbu is doing the role of a police offer in this Dharani directed movie, he has developed six pack abs by working hard in a gym for more than a month. He looks so tough now," say sources in the know.
STR is busy working in three films simultaneously, 'Osthi', 'Podaa Podi' and 'Vettai Mannan'.
"While Osthi and Vettai Mannan are commercial movies with enough scope for action, Podaa Podi is a breezy love story," add sources.

STR can become like MGR: TR
A couple of days ago, newspaper advertisements marking the 75th day of 'Vaanam', which likened the films protagonist STR aka Silambarasan to former Chief Minister and matinee idol MGR, raised many an eyebrow.
The actor's father Vijaya T Rajendar, who claims that he had actually designed the advertisement, says, "There is nothing wrong in yearning to achieve big. I had a dream for Simbu. And he is marching towards it."
"In the particular advertisement, I had mentioned that Simbu is now emerging as a star like how MGR was in those days. Silambarasan has got all qualities to reach that (MGR) place," says the multifaceted personality.
On his forthcoming film 'Oru Thalai Kadhal', he says, "It is a love story which will be a perfect treat to today's audience. I am on a crash diet to make myself fit to the role I am playing in the movie. I know the pulse of youth."

Silambarasan slams Vijay TV and Filmfare awards
The recently held Vijay TV and Filmfare awards may have been considered a huge success but Silambarasan begs to differ. He questions whether the awards reflect the opinion of the majority of Tamil film fans or if they are merely a reflection of the personal preferences of a small group of individuals who wield a lot of power and influence in the awards committee.
However, STR agreed that at least some of the awards went to those who deserved them and for that he is very happy. He even offered his congratulations to those who had truly earned their awards but refused to be more specific about who they might be. His film, VTV had a good showing this awards season.

The latest avatar of STR in Osthi
Although Silambarasan has penned lyrics for a couple of songs, they have proved to be chartbusters (‘Loosu Pennae’ and ‘Evandi Unna Pethan’). With his songs finding good reception, the actor continues to try his luck for a hat-trick spell. He has penned a song for his upcoming film Osthi. While talking about this, STR says, “I have written a song and crooned it to the tunes of Thaman, which is about a husband’s praises for his wife.”
