T.R.SILAMBARASAN

T.R. Silambarasan (STR) born on February 3, 1984 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He Is a Tamil film actor, director, playback singer and songwriter. He began his acting career doing many minor uncredited roles as a child artist, produced by his father T.Rajendar. He made his debut under his father´s direction in 2002 and has since acted in several films in lead roles.

Osthi

Osthe is an upcoming Tamil action film directed by S. Dharani, starring STR. A remake of the 2010 blockbuster Hindi film Dabangg, directed by Abhinav Singh Kashyap and written by Dileep Shukla, it will feature Githan Ramesh, Richa Gangopadhyay, Sonu Sood, reprising his role from the original, Nassar and Revathi in supporting roles and Soundtrack composed by Thaman. The film is in post-production stage and is set to release on 24 November 2011.

Poda Podi

Podaa Podi is an upcoming Tamil romance - comedy film written and directed by debutant Vignesh Shiva, featuring Str, Shobana and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in the lead roles, while Meena Latchman playing a pivotal role. The score and soundtrack of the film are composed by Dharan, while cinematography and editing are handled by Nirav Shah and Anthony Gonsalves, respectively. The film, is currently in its production stage and is expected to release on February 14, 2012.

Vettai Mannan

Vettai Mannan is an upcoming Tamil action film written and directed by debutante director Nelson. The film will feature Str, Jai, Hansika Motwani, Deeksha Seth and Poonam Kaur Starring lead roles. It is produced by S. S. Chakravarthy and features background score and soundtrack composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The film is expected to be made in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi simultaneously, while casting is still undergoing, with the film expected to release in 2012.

Kettavan

Kettavan is a trilingual upcoming film to be directed by Str, starring the director himself in the lead role and music score by his friend Yuvan Shankar Raja. The film will start rolling by next year.

Vada chennai

Vada Chennai is an upcoming tamil action film to be directed by Vetri Maran and Starring lead role by Str. This film is to be Produced by Dhayanithi Alagiri (Cloud Nine Movies) and features background score and sound tracks to be composed by G.V.Prakash Kumar.

Simbu and Mallika Sherawat rocks in Kalasala

Osthi, the remake of Hindi movie Dabangg is ready for release. Simbu starrer in Osthi as police an neverseen character. Richa Gangopadhyay , who opposites Simbu in Osthi.

Osthi team had included hottie Mallika Sherawat for a racy item number titled “kalasala Kalasala” along with TR’s voice, is going to bring the fans dance to their feet in the theater.  This is none other than the Smash hit Dabangg item song “Munni Badnam Hui Darling Tere Liye”.

Dharani has boosted Osthi on the lines of his earlier Blockbusters like Gilli, Dhool and Dhil. So a Colorful film like Osthi, is sure to steal the audience.

Osthi' featuring STR, Richa Gangopadhyay, Sonu Sood, Santhanam and VTV Ganesh is the remake of Bollywood blockbuster 'Dabangg' and has music by Thaman. The audio was released by Ilayathalapathy Vijay and the songs have topped the charts. There's also an item number featuring Mallika which is one of the highlights. The trailer received much popularity in networking sites with fans going gaga over it.Although 'Osthi' was supposed to release on November 18, the climax scenes of the film that are being canned are delayed due to the rains due to which the film has seen a delay by one week. However, trade sources believe that both the movies will release in November and not push to December.

Dharani praises Simbus cop act in Osthi

Director Dharani has pinned high hopes on his upcoming venture Osthi which has Simbu playing a cop for the first time in his career. The film, which was to release on Deepavali last week, was rescheduled to release later and is likely to release towards the year-end or in January.
The film also marks the debut of Richa Gangopadhyaya as heroine in Tamil films. Richa, a popular actress in Tollywood, is introduced in Tamil by Simbu who is said to have put in a decent performance in the film. Director of films like Dil, Dhool and Ghilli, Dharani has reportedly completed the entire shooting of the film in a single schedule. The film’s audio was launched some time back.
Talking about his experience in directing Simbu for the first time, Dharani says “Simbu plays a care-free and romantic cop in the film. Cinematographer Gopinath has put in a great effort in showing Simbu as an active, fire-brand cop. Simbu utters a dialogue in the film which goes like this: ‘I’m like a pair of spectacles; whatever you are, I’d reflect you.’ Though his character is very different from others, his role unites all other roles in the film.“Instead of showing him as a trigger-happy and  extremely tough cop, we have shown him as a nice human being who helps out his uniformed comrades with a humanitarian mind. Overall, Simbu’s characterization is likely to appeal to everyone,” concludes Dharani.
