T.R.SILAMBARASAN

T.R. Silambarasan (STR) born on February 3, 1984 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He Is a Tamil film actor, director, playback singer and songwriter. He began his acting career doing many minor uncredited roles as a child artist, produced by his father T.Rajendar. He made his debut under his father´s direction in 2002 and has since acted in several films in lead roles.

Osthi

Osthe is an upcoming Tamil action film directed by S. Dharani, starring STR. A remake of the 2010 blockbuster Hindi film Dabangg, directed by Abhinav Singh Kashyap and written by Dileep Shukla, it will feature Githan Ramesh, Richa Gangopadhyay, Sonu Sood, reprising his role from the original, Nassar and Revathi in supporting roles and Soundtrack composed by Thaman. The film is in post-production stage and is set to release on 24 November 2011.

Poda Podi

Podaa Podi is an upcoming Tamil romance - comedy film written and directed by debutant Vignesh Shiva, featuring Str, Shobana and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in the lead roles, while Meena Latchman playing a pivotal role. The score and soundtrack of the film are composed by Dharan, while cinematography and editing are handled by Nirav Shah and Anthony Gonsalves, respectively. The film, is currently in its production stage and is expected to release on February 14, 2012.

Vettai Mannan

Vettai Mannan is an upcoming Tamil action film written and directed by debutante director Nelson. The film will feature Str, Jai, Hansika Motwani, Deeksha Seth and Poonam Kaur Starring lead roles. It is produced by S. S. Chakravarthy and features background score and soundtrack composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The film is expected to be made in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi simultaneously, while casting is still undergoing, with the film expected to release in 2012.

Kettavan

Kettavan is a trilingual upcoming film to be directed by Str, starring the director himself in the lead role and music score by his friend Yuvan Shankar Raja. The film will start rolling by next year.

Vada chennai

Vada Chennai is an upcoming tamil action film to be directed by Vetri Maran and Starring lead role by Str. This film is to be Produced by Dhayanithi Alagiri (Cloud Nine Movies) and features background score and sound tracks to be composed by G.V.Prakash Kumar.

STR keeps Osthi within family

Silambarasan’s dad and producer-director-actor T Rajendar has bagged the rights of Osthi. He will distribute the film in entire Tamil Nadu including Chennai. Interestingly, T Rajendar will also distribute Osthi in Kerala and Karnataka areas.

He has procured the distribution rights in the name of Kural TV, which is owned by STR family. Osthi is a remake of the Hindi film Dabangg which has Richa as STR’s leading lady and is directed by Dharani. Thaman has scored the music for the film.

STR set for Jai

Silambarasan aka STR will soon move over to Vettai Mannan as Osthi is scheduled to be
released soon. For Vettai Mannan’s climax, a huge set was erected at
the Binny Mills in Chennai some days ago and the shooting with STR took place there.
Now, the same set has been put up there so that the portions with the film’s
other hero Jai could be shot there.
STR, Jai and other cast and crew will be camping in this place later
this month to complete the portions that are left to be shot.
